Merthyr BID Gains Accreditation
Great news!!! I’m delighted to inform you that the Big Heart of Merthyr Tydfil has been awarded accreditation status by British BIDs.
This prestigious award recognises that the Merthyr BID is well-managed with good governance, strong financial systems, and transparency.
The Big Heart of Merthyr Tydfil is one of just 25 BIDS in the UK to achieve accreditation after a long and stringent application process.
It means that you, our levy payers, have the assurance that you are getting value for money from a well-managed BID.
Chris Turner, Chief executive Officer of British BIDS, said: “It’s clear that responding to levy payers and making sure their views are listened to is important to the Merthyr BID. In terms of overall governance, the BID has introduced an excellent, open and transparent process to appoint Board Directors who play an active role. This has resulted in excellent representation across various sectors and good gender balance, as well as ensuring there is a balanced skillset going far beyond the minimums set within the articles.”
This independent accreditation is a huge boost for the Merthyr BID at a time when we can hopefully get back to what really matters – encouraging people back into our thriving town centre.
